Is this the same as Domain Rating or Domain Authority?

No, and we don't pretend to be. Ahrefs DR and Moz DA are computed from proprietary backlink graphs that cost millions to maintain. The SEO Health Score is a free, transparent diagnostic of on-site and infrastructure signals — the things you actually control. It's a fast sanity check, not a replacement for a backlinks-based metric.

What signals go into the score?

Seven categories, weighted to 100: domain age (Wayback first-archive date, 25), live HTTPS + speed (15), security headers like HSTS (10), on-page SEO basics — title, meta description, H1, canonical, language (20), structured data + Open Graph tags (10), robots.txt + sitemap (10), and domain shape — TLD, length, no hyphens (10).

Why is my score lower than I expected?

The most common reasons are: the site is newer than the Wayback Machine's earliest snapshot (caps you at 75/100), HTTPS is missing or redirects incorrectly, no JSON-LD structured data on the homepage, or no sitemap.xml at the standard location. Each signal's breakdown shows exactly what was found.

Do you store the URLs I check?

We cache results for 24 hours in Redis to avoid hammering the sites we probe, keyed by hostname. We don't link checks to identity or sell the data. Rate-limited to 20 checks per IP per hour.
